i’m feeling a little sad right now. maybe it’s because i’m not drunk enough to ignore how hopeless some things are. i hate when i notice the hopelessness. especially in people i love and want so much more for.

My Treatment Plan
After discussing my test results with a very scientific, knowledgeable coworker, we’ve determined a treatment plan that we feel will remedy my ailments in a jiffy:
A few hours daily, spent sipping screwdrivers on a sunny patio while petting puppies and listening to the pre-recorded sounds of babies cooing. Yep. That oughta do it.

Today was a good day. I walked Maya to school again this morning, after a week-long binge of illness meets slacking meets I’m-too-tired-to-move. Actually, we all walked to school this morning. I held Oliver in check on the way there while Maya and Doug walked together, and then Doug about-faced and took the dog home while I delivered our daughter to her class line on the blacktop.
